The homes will push innovative sustainability concepts and design, as well as include materials and products that will reduce the environmental impact of a home.
Each of the three homes has a specific sustainability objective:

Home 3 - Net zero emissions home
- The Net zero emissions home will create its own independent energy and water . It is capable of being removed from the energy and water grids. The Net Zero Emissions home will create its own independent energy and water. It will be connected to the energy grid but will produce enough energy on site to compensate for the energy use and subsequent greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the energy it draws from the grid. Similarly it will be connected to the water grid but will produce sufficient water to cater for almost all of its water needs.
