Little changes can have a big impact. The kitchen and vanity benchtops in the Greencycle Home are made from fast growing, fully renewable, biodegradable and recyclable bamboo and recycled cardboard – a waste product that is also biodegradable. Yet they’re comparable to reconstituted stone benchtops. So our benchtops have already cleaned up before you get them dirty.
Featuring low embodied energy building materials, recyclable building materials, as well as products made with a high content of recycled materials, the Greencycle Home will showcase the importance
of considering the environmental impact of the products you use to build your home.
Some of the sustainable materials and features used in the home include; bamboo flooring, which is fully recyclable and the fastest growing timber in Australia; modwood for the decking which is made of recycled milk bottles and a 5000L rainwater tank connected to the laundry.
The Greencycle Home also showcases universal design – meaning the homes are designed to be flexible and meet the changing needs of people of different ages and abilities over time. Some features of universal design in the Greencycle Home include;
